About

Beginners looking to sharpen their sewing skills by creating a fanny pack will learn how to:

• Install a zipper
• Work with interfacing
• Add lining
• Install a buckle
• Work with webbing

You will begin with a brief sewing machine orientation, learning the basics of using a sewing machine, how to wind bobbins, sew up your workspace, and leave your space for the next user.

We will go over how to read and prepare a pattern, best practices for pattern management, how to prepare fabric for sewing, find grain lines, and how to cut out pattern pieces.

After preparing your fabric, you will begin assembling your fanny pack and will work on this each day.

• Skill Level: Beginner
• Bring a sack lunch Saturday and Sunday. BARN has a refrigerator and microwave on the lower level.
• A $35 materials fee, included in the cost of the class, covers your pattern, fabric, lining and interfacing, zippers, webbing buckles, and slide adjusters
