Have you ever dabbled in Decorative Paper Arts? Taken a class in Paste Paper? Or, are an artist who wants to learn some Paste Paper techniques to create a stash of spectacular patterns, and become skilled at this time-honored bookbinder’s craft? Come join Susan Callan and other decorative paper enthusiasts for an afternoon workshop on Paste Paper techniques.

In this workshop we’ll hone our Paste Paper skills with layering of pigments; making our own tools for unique patterns; learn hand movements for special effects; work with unusual papers for unusual, but stunning outcomes; and much more. This workshop promises to be messy, but fun and productive – you take home your pile of gorgeous, colorful patterns for future projects.

An optional second session of this workshop (for making a variety of things with our Paste Papers) will be discussed by the workshop group. The date and time for a second session will depend on availability of studio space and collective student interest.

Instructor: Susan Callan (a long-time enthusiastic student-and-teacher of Book Arts), will bring many examples of functional items she has made from, or embellished with Paste Paper to inspire your thinking about your Paste Paper Project.
