As Vince Lombardi said, "Practice does not make perfect. Only perfect practice makes perfect." This workshop is for beginners, artisans, and crafters who want to learn or perfect the skill of glass-cutting. Beginners will learn techniques that make glass cutting a fun, exciting, and successful experience. Artisans and long-time crafters will be surprised by some tips and tricks that result in consistent, fool-proof cuts. In addition to cutting glass, you will be introduced to the table grinder and ring saw and how they can help you with precise designs. If you already use these pieces of equipment, information on care of the machine will be shared. If you have not used them, you will say, "Where have you been all my life?"

INSTRUCTOR: Gregg Mesmer has been cutting glass professionally for decades. He and his wife, Diane Bonciolini, moved to Bainbridge Island in 1977 and started the iconic Mesolini Glass Studio. The techniques they have used over the years are varied and diverse. Gregg's expertise is in techniques involved in fabrication, not only glass cutting, but also leading, soldering and glazing of stained glass windows. Over the years, he has taught for Northwest Art Glass, the Bainbridge Parks District and Olympic College.
