About
We are evaluating several classes that can support a certificate of achievement in Book Arts. This is the first course in the series (identified by the 'Core A-1). This is a beta test class to evaluate interest, length and curriculum.
This class focuses on basic and intermediate level book arts skills, teaching studio tricks and tips, correct nomenclature, materials exploration and skill building. We will focus on folding techniques, simple books that use the accordion fold in a variety of ways, and standard binding techniques, including signature binding.
Starting out on Friday evening, we'll do a writing exercise and make it into a small book. We will then focus on Basic and intermediate skills development on Saturday, and bind a variety of books on Sunday.
This course will give you fob access to the Book Arts studio from 8 am to 10 pm seven days per week. A syllabus will be sent on February 1 to those who have registered. Complete handouts will be distributed at the beginning of the class.
