Join us for an informal gathering to share and discuss books of all kinds. Come meet fellow book arts enthusiasts.  Everyone is welcome!

We'll have a group of artists from Puget Sound Book Arts and BARN displaying and discussing their work, including Donna Lettersee, Gina Pisello, and Pamela Wachtler-Fermanis. We invite you to bring your own books to display and share with the group.

In addition, we'll have a simple botanical printing activity to make lovely fall themed bookmarks! All supplies will be provided.

Laura Samant

Laura is a hobbyist printmaker currently serving as BARN's Print & Book Arts Studio lead. Laura can certify people to use these the Takach etching presses, metal type setting, wood type setting, the Vandercook proof press, the provisional presses, and the Chandler & Price Pilot presses.

jane Carlin

Jane is the former director of the Collins Library at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, and a board member of the Puget Sound Book Artists and the Book Club of Washington. She has taught in book history and design as well as established a strong collection of artists' books. She recently co-curated the international juried exhibition of artists' books titled Dreams, as well as Nature and the Book at the Miller Library (University of Washington) in January 2024.
