Zines (from magazine) are self-published works that can be about anything, from gardening to fashion to politics. This class is an introduction to zines—students will learn how to make their own zines and leave the class with their own zines and zines made by the other students. 


Instructor Bio:

Morgan Stewart is an artist and bookmaker based in Seattle, Washington. With a background in biology, letterpress, and illustration, Morgan explores narrative and book form in zines and artist’s books. Important reoccurring themes in Morgan’s work include monstrosity, femininity, and fairy tales, while visually she works with translucent inks and exaggerated, cartoony images, prioritizing clarity of communication.
