Tuesday & Thursday, Nov. 1 & 3, 6:30-8:30 pm. Plus Sunday, Nov. 6, 2-4 pm if needed to complete project.

Plus materials fee of $20, payable at first class

Make a birdhouse with a copper roof in this class, which is open to teens 14 and older. 

In the first session, students will be introduced to the chop saw, table saw and drill press and then cut out and assemble the birdhouses.  Operation of stationary power tools requires operators to pass a safety and operation check-off before being able to operate power equipment. 

In the second session, students will meet in the BARN Annex where they will learn how to use basic sheet metal equipment and be guided through making and attaching the copper roof to their birdhouse. 

The third session will allow completion of the birdhouse with supervision if additional time and assistance are needed.

All materials and tools will be provided. Beginners are welcome.

Instructors: David Grant, a BARN woodworker and board member, and Jack Archer, who heads BARN's sheet metal programs, will team-teach this class.
