Adults and older teens have admired the Adirondack chairs built during BARN's youth programs over the past couple of summers and have asked for a chance to build them, too. So here's a class for both adults and teens 14 years and older.

Over two weekends, each student will build one of these classic chairs from local cedar wood. This is a great class if you have completed our basic safety training classes but want more experience using the band saw, miter (chop) saw, router table, sanders and drills. Proper tool usage and safety will be practiced and reviewed.  You will start out with a stack of boards and take home your own Adirondack chair. 

Details:

• * Open to anyone ages 14+ who has completed Woodshop Tool Safety 1 and Woodshop Tool Safety 2. If you want to have the option of spending more time on your chair during Open Studio, you also need to take our free Orientation to the Woodshop class. Open Studio is always free for members. The usual $20 non-member fee  is waived when students are completing a class project.
  

• Please dress appropriately for working in the Woodshop. Avoid dangling jewelry or loose clothing. Long hair must be tied back. Close-toed shoes are required.
