About

**Canceled due to no enrollment per Jeanne 1/9 SK**

class was 7 sessions.

Before plywood and MDF took over the furniture market, woodworkers built cabinets and other casework pieces from solid wood, using features such as frame-and-panel assemblies and dovetail joints to create sturdy pieces with doors and drawers that operated smoothly even when the wood shrank or swelled with changes in humidity. This class introduces you to this type of fine woodworking.

Instead of building a set casework piece, you will be able to choose your own design as long as it includes at least one door and one drawer and has to make a wall cabinet or a nigh stand, for example. The instructor will try to be available ahead of time to steer you in a direction that suits your skill level and the time you can devote to the project. Especially if you have a complex project, you would need to work on it between sessions in order to have it complete by the end of the class. The instructor will also discuss wood options with you so that you can bring suitable wood to the first class.

Details:
