About

**This workshop will be live streamed via Zoom.**

A writing workshop with NYTimes Bestselling and Newbery-Honored Author, Adam Gidwitz.

Whether you have no idea what you want your kids novel to be about, or whether you're halfway through writing it, this workshop is designed to help. Adam will break the process of writing a novel down from way before you start writing, showing you how he builds from scribbles in a notepad (or notes in an iPhone) to a fully planned and fleshed out book. There's no one right way to write a novel, but Adam's method may well work for you--or at least give you ideas to add to your own process. There will be time for some Q and A at the end.

Instructor Bio:

Adam Gidwitz was a teacher for eight years. Now, he writes full time, which means he writes a couple of hours a day, and lies on his couch staring at the ceiling the rest of the time. He is the bestselling author of the children's books, A Tale Dark and Grimm and its companions, as well as The Empire Strikes Back: So You Want to Be a Jedi. Since receiving a Newbery Honor for his middle grade novel, The Inquisitor's Tale, Adam has been collaborating with other authors to write an adventure series called The Unicorn Rescue Society. Adam is also the creator of GRIMM, GRIMMER, GRIMMEST, a podcast from Pinna and #1 show for kids on Apple Podcasts. The television adaptation of A Tale Dark and Grimm is expected to debut in October 2021. More news on that coming very soon! For more info on Adam, visit his website at www.adamgidwitz.com, and follow him on Facebook and Twitter @AdamGidwitz.
