About

This is a follow-up course to the Drones 101 course in which participants learned to fly a first-person view (FPV) drone in a simulator. In this course, you will learn how to build an FPV drone. The FPV drone will use a five-inch frame with five-inch propellers, along with an onboard high-definition video transmitter. The rest of the components are listed below.

Students will be responsible for ordering the parts listed below before attending the class. The Drones 101 course is highly recommended, but not required if you have enough practice either in an FPV simulator (like LiftOff or VelociDrone) or flight experience with an actual drone.

Required:

  • Soldering experience. If you have not done much soldering recently, it is recommended that you take the BARN ETA soldering class posted here.
  • Flight experience with an FPV drone.

Parts Supply list - students will have to purchase FPV drone components before the start of class.

Details:

  • All levels 18+ are welcome.

Instructor: Mark McComsey - Mark has built FPV drones and is happy to share his experiences and thoughts with others. You can sample a custom build here: https://vimeo.com/587980669/beb67b083d.
