About

Modern computer components enable hobbyists with only general skills to successfully assemble working PCs. Computer enthusiast, John Croxford, recently found he was experiencing long delays and frequent crashes when attempting to manipulate the large mesh files germane to CAD and games with his existing computer. To resolve this problem economically, John rebuilt an old computer with new components focused on processing and graphics power required to display these objects.

This talk will cover how John selected his components, ensured component-to-component compatibility, and assembled a machine that was tailored to his needs while saving a few dollars over machines offered by the major PC manufacturers. Armed with this information, others can use the same processes to build their own high performance PCs.
