About

CANCELED - instructor passed away.

Keep this in admin mode please.~tammie

Learn to make a willow branch frame, and add art papers to create a lightweight, translucent vessel with paper-cord embellishments.  You may weave a small sail to attach to your vessel if you like.  This is a space to be creatively nurtured, to explore, and to have fun.  If you attend the Shifu Journey workshop, you can bring your own handspun paper yarn for the weft weaving.

There is a $30 materials fee for materials to be used in workshop that is included in the class price.

Students Should bring:

  • Sack lunch
  • 3.5” sewing needle or longer
  • Spray bottle for water
  • Old towel
  • Optional: yarn scraps, other processed fiber scraps

Skill Level: Universal -- all skill levels welcome.

Ages: Ages 14+ Welcome.

Bring a bag lunch. We have a refrigerator for people to store their lunches and drinks!

Instructor Bio: Oregon Basketmaker Donna Sakamoto Crispin isn’t one to expound on the depth of meaning in each piece of her vastly diverse body of work.  Rather, she is one of those rare, refreshing artists who allows a work of art to speak for itself-and, often, for her.  Ms. Crispin’s art form utilizes traditional techniques passed down from generation to generation for hundreds, even thousands of years.  She believes her work as artist and teacher is fundamental to preserving this craft.
