About
During the month of May, we will be holding some 'shakedown' workshops/gatherings to troubleshoot any challenges we need to address in our new BARN Fiber Studio space. Participants in these workshops will be our partners in 'test driving' the new space and helping us identify things we can do to make the workshop experience as positive as possible. Participants will be able to attend the workshops for free and only pay material fees.

This is a class we have been waiting to offer and we are so happy that Heidi Dascher, the owner of the Artful Ewe in Port Gamble, will be our instructor. If you have ever visited the Artful Ewe or the store's Facebook page, you know that Heidi dyes and spins much of the yarn that is in her store. Heidi will be bringing some of her polwarth/silk fiber for us to use in this workshop.
Instructor Bio: Heidi Dascher is the owner of the beguiling Artful Ewe, a store in Port Gamble filled with Heidi’s hand-dyed and spun yarn, batts and felted hats and cloaks. She has a corner of the shop with over-stuffed chairs where her guests/clients come to sit and spin fiber, knit, crochet, or do other hand work with fibers.
When she isn’t at the shop, Heidi is at home, creating her own unique inventory of batts, felts, and skeins—winding, hand-dyeing, hand-painting, washing, drying, carding, and spinning. “I make up my own color recipes, like a painter’s palette," she says. "Some days, I feel like it is a color-dyeing day; others, a hand-painting day."
