About

This class has been cancelled. It will be rescheduled in the Fall.

This workshop promises to be a lot of fun. We will make finger-less gloves to suit your personality whether it be chic, bohemian, steam punk, eleven, or out-of-doors adventurer.

You will use polar fleece, stretchy suede fabric, or stretchy velour to create the outer layer.  The insides are lined with microfleece to guarantee your hands stay warm.  Add the unique touches to make it suit your style -- such as embroidery, beading, appliqué, or?

The first Saturday, February 10th,  we will:
-- Make a pattern of your hands and cut out the material for the outer and inner layers.

-- Learn embroidery, beading, and appliqué techniques to embellish your gloves

-- Develop your embellishment design and get started on creating your design on the gloves.

The second Saturday, February 17th, we will:  -- Finish the embellishments.

-- Sew the pattern pieces of the gloves together using either a sewing machine or embroidering a blanket stitch around the edges to bind them.

-- Share our "handiwork" with each other.

-- Celebrate our finished project with a whimsical 'Alice in Wonderland' inspired Dormouse tea.  Instructors will provide tea and teacups.  Students should bring finger foods appropriate for an afternoon tea.  Feel free to bring a hat to wear that shares the same personality as your gloves.

Material Fee: $25.  PleaseThe material fee is for fabrics, embroidery floss, beads, felted wool, and other sewing supplies.  Please bring chash or check made out to BARN to the first day of class.

The following materials are included with the material fees: fabric for gloves and appliqué, embroidery floss, beads.

Students do not need to know how to sew to take this class.

Folks 14 years-old or older are welcome to take the class.
