Winter is a great time to forge your own fire poker. While we're at it, let’s have some fun and put a ram's head on the handle. This blacksmithing course covers the basics, and will teach you how to control hot metal between hammer and anvil, while giving you a taste of the artistry.
Details
- Skill level: This is a challenging beginner blade-smithing project.
- This class is off-site at 20224 Pond View Lane NE, Poulsbo, WA 98370.
- You'll be in an open-air workshop, so dress accordingly.
- Blacksmithing is simple but is physically challenging. Enjoy a day at the forge, but be careful … this ancient art is very addictive.
- Bring a lunch for our break.
Materials
- A $30 materials fee, included in the class price, covers all the materials you'll need.
Class Policies
- Wear natural-fiber clothing only (no synthetics that could melt or burn your skin).
- Wear closed-toe shoes or boots. Sandals are not permitted.
- Ages 14 and up are welcome.
