Join this fun, hands-on exploration of steam-bending and go home with two table lamps illuminated with LED light strings. Discover how heat, moisture, and a little muscle can transform solid wood into fluid, curving, and beautifully twisted forms.

Start with a few hands-on bending exercises, then use your new skills to create two one-of-a-kind table lamps—a striking blend of craftsmanship, creativity, and contemporary design.

You will learn basic steam bending techniques and processes:
  • How to select and prepare wood for bending
  • Steam bending setup with and without a steam box
  • Mold making
  • Bending with a mold and without a mold
  • How to use a metal strap for bending when needed
