About

Learn about the manufacturing section of Fusion 360, essential to using BARN’s computer numerical control (CNC) machines.

About this Class

In this class, you’ll learn about:

  • Setup (Machine), Stock, and Post Processor tabs of Setups in Fusion 360's Manufacturing section.
  • The various Mill and Turn (lathe) operations available, and when to use them.
  • Details of Tool Library locations, importing into your Fusion application, and their relationship to the tools in the CNC machines.
  • Post Processors, what they are, where to find them, how to import them, and how they are used.

Knowing how to utilize the CAM (computer-aided manufacturing) functions is a big step toward using BARN's CNC machines and is required to produce usable G-code from a Fusion 360 model.

Details

  • Fusion 360 competency required.
  • This class is required for the second session of either Introduction to CNC Mill or Introduction to CNC Lathe.
  • Wear closed-toe shoes in the studio. Tie back long hair, avoid loose-fitting clothing and jewelry and roll up your sleeves. Wear hearing protectors when warranted and safety glasses; bring your own or use BARN's.
