About
Once you know how, you can frame pictures, prints, or other artwork you create using tools available at BARN.
You'll use old, second-growth, clear, vertical-grain cedar to build an 11-inch by 14-inch frame. In the Woodworking & Small Boatbuilding Studio, you'll mill and assemble the frame on the first day, using the table saw to rip the stock and the rabbet, the router
to mill the front, and the miter saw to assemble the frame.
On the second day, you'll sand the frame in the Woodworking Studio, then move to the Print & Book Studio to cut the mat, the foam backer board, and the glass. You'll end up with a beautiful frame and a framing process that you can use to handle all your art framing needs and protect other works of art.
The instructor also will discuss shadow box frames and show you examples of that process.
