About

If you’re new to the world of serging, we are here to help.  Learn the basics of using your serging machine, taught by Leah Boyan.  Sergers are wonderful and have many uses - they can overcast seam allowances, create all-in-one seam+overcast edges, produce lovely rolled hems, coverstitch garment edges and much, much more. And they do it all while sewing very FAST.

Bring your serger, thread, and scissors.  Plus any fabric you have laying around to practice with.

Instructor: Leah Boyan currently teaches machine sewing at the Madrona Waldorf School on Bainbridge Island.  She's taken fashion design classes at the New York Fashion Academy in Ballard.  When she's not sewing her own clothes or drafting her own sewing patterns, she's dreaming about her next sewing project.
