Film Screening & Panel Discussion

We are pleased to share a screening of Honor Thy Mother: the Untold Story of Aboriginal Women and Their Indipino Children, which tells the story Aboriginal women from Canada and Native women from tribes in Washington and Alaska who migrated in the 1940s to Bainbridge Island, the traditional territory of the Suquamish people, and married Filipino immigrants.

Following the 31-minute film, you will have an opportunity to hear more stories and ask questions during a panel discussion with members of the Indipino community who are featured in the film. 

Screening and panel are free but registration is required as seating is limited.

You may also be interested in joining us for a Community Gathering & Welcome Song before the screening (5-7pm) which is free and open to all.  Limited space is available for a drum-making workshop with Chief Dale Harry (Squamish, BC) on Sunday, October 9th - click here to learn more and register.
