In this class, students will make a sterling silver band ring and set a cabochon -- a gemstone that's polished but not faceted. More soldering opportunities will happen as skills develop.

 Students must be able to light the torch on their own for this level class.

This class meets on four consecutive Tuesdays, July 5 to Aug. 5. The instructor is Jane Martin.

A $10 materials fee is payable to the instructor at the first class. This fee does not cover the sterling silver, which students can buy from the instructor based on the amount.

INSTRUCTOR: Jane Martin has a bachelor of fine arts degree from University of the Arts (Philadelphia College of Art) in Philadelphia, PA. She has taught jewelry making at Pratt Fine Arts Center in Seattle, for the Seattle Metals Guild, and the Bainbridge Island parks department. Her jewelry is shown at Facèré Jewelry Art Gallery in Seattle.
