About

* This class has prerequisites. Please see below.

So you’ve gotten proficient with the basics on the table saw, like ripping and crosscutting and cutting rabbets and dados.  There is so much more that can be done on this machine, and this class is designed to introduce you to some of the more advanced techniques.

In this class, you'll learn how to select the right blade and prevent tear out, how to use a jig to cut tapers, how to cut a straight edge on a crooked board, how to cut tenons or angles on edges of boards, how to make thin repetitive cuts, and how to make dead-on miter cuts for picture frames and other projects. You will also learn how to cut box joints, splines for mitered frames, raised panels and even circles — all on the table saw.

Details:

  • Ages 14+ are welcome
  • * Open to those who have taken Woodshop Tool Safety Checkout 1. If you have not taken this class, please register for it before you enroll in this class.
  • This is an intermediate-level class. If you are new to using a table saw, you will benefit from taking Table Saw Basics before you take this class.

Instructors: Dina Madson is a safety monitor in the BARN Woodworking Studio and a local general contractor. She has battled her addiction to wood and woodworking machinery for more than 30 years.
