Weaving combines color, fiber, and patterns in endless, unique options to create cloth. You'll learn all the steps involved in weaving — setting up and using a floor loom, project planning, weave structure and pattern, and many tricks of the trade.

You'll weave small samples with a focus on learning how to set up the loom, plan your project, and weave. You'll walk out of class with a strong understanding of this complex but incredibly rewarding process.

In this intensive, five-session class, you'll learn how to:

• Prepare fiber to go on the loom.
• Indirectly warp a loom (and what "warp" means).
• Set up a floor loom.
• Weave multiple weaving structures.
• Change colors and create more complex patterning.
• Plan weaving projects.
• Read a weaving draft.

Details

• Skill Level: Beginners.
• Although the class officially ends at 2 PM, you're welcome to keep weaving throughout the afternoon (and evening, if you're really motivated!).

• Bring a lunch for after class if you like. A refrigerator and microwave are available on the lower level.
• You'll be able to use the loom for one week after the class to complete your final project.
