This class is a sequel to Introduction to MIG (Metal Inert Gas) Welding #1. The class is open to those who have completed MIG #1 or the equivalent. It may also serve as a refresher for those that have not welded in the recent past due to COVID.
The class will review the set-up process for MIG welding on a Miller 215 Welder, a safety refresher, and a review of welding theory.
The emphasis of the class will be on technique development and practice. This is a hands-on opportunity to refine, practice and advance what was learned in MIG #1. The MIG welding class is limited to 3 participants for one-on-one learning.
The class will focus on how to perform different kind of welds – butt, lap, “T”, corner, gap filler, and edge. The goal at the end of the studio is to feel comfortable with the operation of the welding machine and the MIG welding process in performing different welds. The class will include welding different thicknesses of mild steel. Students may progress to a simple welded piece.
