About

This class will cover basic safety for the Sheet metal/Welding shop and introduce students to each of the major tools and hand tools that are used in sheet metal fabrication. Each student will get hands on experience, and also learn how to transfer patterns in the process of making a simple item such as a small tray. No prior experience is required. If you have your own safety glasses, please bring them with you however, safety glasses are available in the shop for use. Wearing a mask is mandatory at all times while at BARN.

Details:

  • Participants must wear natural fiber clothing, long pants, closed-toe shoes (natural fiber or leather), no stretch fabrics, and long hair tied back.

Instructor:  Linda Sohlberg.  Linda is a registered architect.  She is also active in the woodworking studio at BARN.
