This class will introduce experienced machinists to the safe operation of the machine tools and tooling in the shop.

At the end of the class, experienced participants should be able to safely operate all the tools except for the CNC milling machine. This includes the Hardinge lathe, Rockwell lathe, Lagun FT-1 mill, the Servo SAM V non-cnc operation, cut off saw, vertical band saw with a brief introduction to the surface grinder. 

Students will be shown the location of the measuring tools and tooling and taught to use the Darex drill sharpening machine.

Instructor Bio: Peter Moseley is a retired mechanical engineer and manufacturing manager who’s shop experience includes making operating live steam 2.5”/foot scale narrow gauge model locomotives along with an associated outdoor railroad.
