About

This workshop teaches jewelers how they can take their flex shaft, and with some minor adaptations and a few new diamond bits, do some basic work on a wide variety of materials normally outside their metals repertoire. The topics covered include drilling a hole in almost anything, minor reshaping of stones, resurfacing of materials, polishing, sources for tools, and safety concerns. The workshop is an instructional talk in nature and there will be handouts and plenty of personal interaction.

Due to the nature of the subject and the need for water use with the flex shafts, students are asked to bring an apron and wear clothes that they are okay with getting wet. No experience necessary. All levels welcome. Students will have the opportunity to buy stones and beads directly from David after the class.

BARN member: $45

Non-member: $55

Materials fee: $15 will be added to class fee when you register.

Trunk show and sale  4:30 pm to 5:30 pm during Open Studio time after the class.

Please bring an apron and wear clothing you are OK with getting wet.

For more information please contact Jane Martin at Jewelry.Lead@bainbridgeBARN.org
