About

Open Studio in BARN’s fully-equipped Jewelry and Fine Metals Studio provides BARN members and the jewelry community a collaborative environment to pursue self-directed work, whether it’s to finish projects from classes or to work on independent projects. BARN supplies tools and basic shop supplies. Some metals are available for purchase (please bring cash or check). Ask the studio monitor for assistance.

A trained safety monitor is always on duty.

Skills Card

A skills card is required for all open studio participants.  A jewelry studio skills card can be acquired by attending a BARN introductory jewelry class such as Introduction to jewelry skills, Introduction to the jeweler's torch, Introduction to lapidary, Introduction to enamel, or Introduction to beading skills. Jewelers with previous experience can request a skills assessment, by emailing jewelry.programming@bainbridgebarn.org

Social Distancing and Protocols

In order to maintain social distancing in the studio, there are 5 spots available for general studio use and 3 spots available for using the lapidary equipment. You will specify which type when you register. If you sign up to use the lapidary equipment, please bring your own towels for use and clean up. If the session fills, please join the waitlist. If someone cancels, you will be notified via email that a spot has opened up.

Masks are required for all activities in the Jewelry studio at this time. Please click here for BARN's current COVID-19 health & safety protocols.
