In this one-day class, you will learn through instructor demonstration and guided hands-on practice: how to measure (for ring size), cut, file, and solder wire together to make a ring band. You will be given the opportunity to work with the industry-standard Smith Little torch during this class. You will take home the sterling silver rings you make and class handouts for future practice and revision.
Details:
- Prerequisite: A Jewelry Studio skills card that shows torch experience. Example: Introduction to the Jewelers' Torch and Soldering Class. Please login to your BARN account, click on your profile name and check the link "My event registrations" to ensure you have completed these classes.
- $30 materials fee is included in the class fee.
- There will be a break for lunch. Please feel free to bring a lunch. There is a refrigerator and microwave on the lower level.

Instructor Bio:
Sarah Jones is a BARN founding member, jewelry studio programming, and steering committee member. She is a local Bainbridge Island artist, and teacher with experience in fine metal arts, jewelry, ceramics, sculpture, stained glass, and photography.
Because Sarah is a visual and tactile learner herself, her classes typically involve a lot of hands-on learning time. In addition, Sarah’s classes are accompanied by printed information and resources for her students to refer back to when practicing their new skills.
Sarah’s art has been displayed in the Seattle Metals Guild exhibitions and Bainbridge Arts & Craft exhibitions.
