About

In this class you will learn several techniques on how to polish a natural surface on a stone to preserve the unique organic shape and what setting best suits your stone. We will also learn how to cut stones and shape druzy on the lapidary equipment. We will be using sterling silver and accenting with gold fill wire.

You can choose to make a bracelet, ring, or pendant. We will discuss design ideas, look at examples, and, as a class, choose a few pieces for the instructor to demonstrate and create together.

Details:

  • This is a beginner/intermediate level class. To get the most out of this class, previous soldering skills are recommended.
  • We will be using lapidary equipment to cut and shape natural stones and druzies. Intro to Lapidary class is not required but having that experience will give you an advantage in this class.
  • $45 materials fee will be added to the class fee when you register.
  • Please bring a bag lunch. BARN has a refrigerator to store your lunch, located on the lower level.
  • Students that have taken Intro to Lapidary class are encouraged to bring some of their own stones to cut in class.
