About
If you can draw the figure, you can draw anything! In no other subject does the artist encounter such complex and mysterious demands as the challenge to draw the human figure.
Details
- Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early so you have time to set up your area and prepare for the session. Doors will close promptly at 5:30 p.m.
- At the start of the two-hour session, there will be a brief introduction to studio culture and the week’s model.
- The session will then begin with a series of five short gestures (dynamic poses not easily held for longer than a few minutes) as warmup for both artists and models.
- After a short break, the remaining time will be structured into four 20-minute poses, relieving the model with 5-minute breaks.
- Easels are provided. All dry materials and watercolor are welcome. Please no acrylics, oils, India Ink or turpentine.
- The class fee covers compensation for the model. If you wish to show extra appreciation for the model's skill, time, and professionalism, you are welcome to leave an anonymous tip in the box provided at each session.
We encourage all participants, especially those new to figure drawing, to attend the Orientation to Live Figure Drawing.
