BARN member: $100 for 3 sessions
Non-member: $120 for 3 sessions

Materials fee: $24 due at the first class.

Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, November 10, 11 & 12 from 1 pm to 4 pm

Make a hammer from aluminum and brass as you learn basic metal machining techniques.

Machining operations that will be covered in the class include basic metal turning, external thread cutting, knurling, chamfering, cutting off, milling a flat on a round workpiece, drilling, and tapping threads.

The hammer, which will be yours to keep, will have a brass head and will be useful as a "positioning" hammer. If you want a hammer head other than brass that's 1¼ inch diameter, bring the material to the class.

Hammers pictured were made by Bob Spangler & James Schumacher in the class held earlier this year.
