This is maker time for enthusiasts of varying skill levels and interests. Only four spots are available to maintain safety protocols. You'll be able to work on your project for the first two hours. The last half hour is blocked for you to clean up your work area.

Details

  • A trained monitor is present but no instruction is given.
  • Registration is required (no drop-ins).
  • Click "Add to Waitlist" if this fills, and you'll be notified via email if a spot becomes available.

Prerequisites

  • You must have completed Machine Shop Orientation.
  • Experience is required on the equipment you plan to use. If you don't have experience or it's been years since you've used your skills, gain the needed experience by attending one of our Machine Shop classes
  • If you haven't taken a BARN class but believe you have the skills to work safely in the studio on an independent project, contact metal.programming@bainbridgebarn.org before registering for Open Studio.

Class Policies

  • Wear natural-fiber clothing, long pants, long sleeves, and closed-toe shoes (natural fiber or leather). No sandals, stretch fabrics, hoodie ties, or dangling jewelry such as bracelets that can get caught in machinery. Tie back long hair.
  • Ages 14 and up are welcome.
