About

Fix-It Saturday is a free event that takes advantage of the equipment and skills of the Metal Fabrication group at BARN with the mission to repair household items. Requested repairs need be on metal or related electrical elements. Your hands-on participation in the "fix-it" process is encouraged.

We'll see what we can do, what suggestions we can make, or what other avenues you might pursue if a fix is not at hand.

Details

  • Free and open to members and non-members.
  • Registration for Fix-It is encouraged. Registration is required for the concurrent Open Studio.
  • No wheeled vehicles.
  • This event runs concurrently with Open Studio which is available to qualified users. If you wish to participate in Open Studio, you must register and pay any requisite fees.

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for participating in Fix-It Saturday as this is open and free to all. However, Open Studio participation requires typical experience.

Class Policies

  • Ages 14 and up are welcome.
  • BARN will provide personal protection equipment.
  • If you plan to weld, you must wear natural-fiber clothing, long pants, long sleeves, closed-toe shoes (natural fiber or leather), and tie back long hair. No stretch fabrics.
