Fiber Arts include sewing, weaving, knitting, macramé, and more! Each week of this 6-week session will feature a sample project from one of the many different fiber arts in the studio. You can make the sample, customize it to your liking, or dream up your own project in any fiber art. You’ll always be welcome to bring your own fiber projects to work on.

Possible weekly projects (subject to change):

Week 1: Weave a coaster from fabric strips on a small frame loom

Week 2: Macramé a wall hanging

Week 3: Knit a garter stitch potholder

Week 4: Sew a wallet from an old shirt cuff

Week 5: Stitch and tie-dye a silk bandana

Week 6: Your choice!

What supplies students should bring: 
Lots of materials are available in the studio. If you want to work on your own fiber projects, bring the specific materials your project requires. 

Details:

  • There is a materials fee of $15 included in the price of class. The materials fee is for Fabric, thread, cord, roving, yarn, dye. etc., for each week’s sample project. 
  • To register your youth please put in the NAME field your name then their name in parenthesis.
  • Tuition assistance is available. Click here to apply.  
  • Skill Level:  Universal -- All skill levels welcome.
  • Ages: Current 7th and 8th graders.
