This supports the Sew Powerful Purse Program (sew.powerful.org), providing Zambian girls. Having a purse like this, which Sew Powerful fills with hygiene products, helps girls stay in school all month long so they can keep up with schoolwork.

In addition to using volunteers like us all over the world to make purses, Sew Powerful employs women in Zambia to sew school uniforms and reusable hygiene products. Sewists and non-sewists alike are welcome to join us - we’ll need many hands to prepare, sew, iron, and pack purses and write cards to accompany the purses.

You are welcome to come for all or part of the day. We’ll take a break around lunchtime. Please sign up so we know you are coming.
