Join instructor Lauren Ko who will lead a demonstration on how to make pie dough and gingerbread caramel. She will then walk participants through two different pie top designs with a discussion about design and inspiration. Participants will have time to create their own full-size pie creation to take home and bake. Baked pies, pie fries, and ice cream will be provided for a tasting session at the end of class!

Details:
- This class is open to adults and youth.
- If you like, you can bring a youth however please note, each participant regardless of age is required to register separately, and will make their own pie. Adults should register twice to indicate they will be bringing someone under the age of 14. You will then be making 2 pies.
- There will be an additional materials fee of $15, added to the base price of class for each registrant. (Members $80+15=$95. Non-Members $100+$15=$115).
- This class is also available in the afternoon. Please see our calendar.
What to Bring:
Participants are requested to bring an apron if they wish.
About the Instructor:
Lauren Ko is a writer, artist, self-taught home baker, and the founder of the popular Instagram account @lokokitchen. She has roots in sunny San Diego, although she is currently based in Seattle.
Her interests include crafting unconventional designs out of fruit and dough, hiking around the Pacific Northwest, and scouting the best happy hour nachos.
Lauren’s colorful geometric style regularly inspires fellow bakers on Instagram, where she has amassed over 200,000 followers. Her pie designs have been featured in publications such as Vogue, O Magazine, Buzzfeed, and Design Milk. She has appeared on-screen in New Day Northwest with King5, Martha Bakes, and CBS’ Henry Ford’s Innovation Nation. She was recently named to The Bake Feed’s 2018 Baker’s Dozen—13 of the most talented baking icons, movers and shakers pushing baking boundaries and making the biggest difference in the baking world.
