About

Because the move into the new building was delayed, we will not be able to have classes involving sheet metal until June. This class will be rescheduled for later in the summer.

Copper place card holders & napkin rings add elegance to any dinner party. You can also use the the place card holders to label many things, whether they are ingredients in a dish for a potluck or items you are displaying for sale. You'll make a set of these beautiful napkin rings and place card holders as you learn to cut, shape and finish copper.

To create your napkin rings, you'll start with a piece of 20-ounce copper sheet and use the jump shear, deburring tool, rounding anvil, and palm sander to complete them. You will have your choice of two design options.

To make your place card holders, you'll start with a piece of 16-ounce copper sheet and use the jump shear, deburring tool, palm sander, and box break to cut, finish and fold the metal. Beginners are welcome.

The materials cost for class fabrication will range from $10 to $15 depending on size and materials used, payable in class.

The Sheet Metal Studio will be open Tuesdays & Wednesdays from 6 pm to 8 pm for open studio time to finish any class projects.

No prior sheet metal experience is required, although it will be helpful to have taken the two-hour Sheet Metal Safety class, offered twice a month on Wednesdays from 6 to 8 pm.

Instructor: Jack Archer spent a career in sheet metal work and now heads BARN’s sheet metal programs. Contact Jack with any questions:  jackswines@gmail.com
