About
Create a holiday-inspired ornament or decoration with wool roving and needle felting tools. Explore your creativity and transform raw wool into something dense and fun using this craft that tangles fibers together with a barbed needle.
The concept of using needles to tangle fibers was developed for industrial use in the 19th century, primarily in Germany and England. Machines with many needles were used to mass produce felt for things like carpets, insulation, and padding. But in the 1980s, it was adapted for small-scale, hand-held art using single barbed needles and its popularity as a creative art form continues to grow around the world.
