About

If you've taken an introductory drawing class or have similar experience with graphite, pencils, pen and/or ink, here is a way to take your drawing skills to the next level.

Continue to hone your drawing process and skills, learn new ways of seeing, add to your artist’s quiver of tools, and execute a complete work from planning to finishing.

You'll have the opportunity to try new media and tools, participate in engaging discussions, and receive constructive feedback on your work.

Details

  • Skill level: Growing beginners and intermediate-level drawing artists. Some experience with pencil, pen, and marker is recommended. You should be open to challenges and new ways of seeing.
  • Bring your sketchbook, pens, pencils, and any other drawing tools you enjoy using, along with your curiosity to explore additional tools that will be available.

Details

A $10 materials fee, included in the cost of the class, includes supplies to explore new media (e.g., pens, colored pencils, watercolor pencils, graphite, etc.)

Class Policies

Ages 14 and up are welcome.

Instructor
Michael Gunderson

Michael comes to BARN with 50 years' experience teaching art. He started teaching painting and drawing in Southern California in the early '70s and his last public school position was as lead teacher and administrator in charge of creating a small public high school in central California. After teaching multiple elective subjects, he always had his love of drawing and painting as his security blanket. Adventures led him to Canada and San Diego where he was active in drawing groups and watercolor societies. His move to Bainbridge introduced him to BARN where he served in a leadership role in the Woodworking Studio. Four years ago, the sketchbook called and he formed regular drop-in drawing sessions in BARN's Commons. This interest has, in turn, led to his active participation in BARN’s Drawing & Painting Studio. His main interest remains with the refinement of his drawing skills, and the drawing skills of others.
