About

Apa Sunriver said on 8/12 that this class was going  to be postponed to a different date and that we should move the rolled brim hat class to the 22nd.~tt

Grow your nuno felting skills by expanding on the flat shawl or scarf to create a simple seamless garment. In this class we will take the nuno felting technique and add a resist pattern and special layout of the wool to allow for a nicely draped and form fitting piece.

Create a luxurious, colorful, one of a kind nuno felted tunic or dress of your dreams!

In this 3 session workshop, your instructor, Donna Lark, will:

  • work with you on color theory and help with color selections at the start of the class.
  • provide a range of colors in hand dyed silks for you to chose from for your garment.
  • supply merino wool and curly, silky wool embellishment to use in creating your tunic or dress.
  • help you with paying special attention to developing the quality or ‘hand’ of the resulting fabric.

Participants Should Bring to Class:

  • Waterproof apron
  • 2-3 old towels
  • Bring a bag lunch. We have a refrigerator for people to store their lunches and drinks!

Details:
  • Please note that for this class, cancellations received 14 days or less before the workshop start date will not be eligible for a refund or credit.
  • Materials: There is a $75 materials fee included in the tuition. The instructor will provide materials for the workshop including wool, fabric, etc.
  • Skill Level: Intermediate to Advanced.  Students should have some prior experience with nuno felting.
  • A one-day class to learn the nuno felting techniques is being offered on September 15th, 2019, if you have not had any prior experience with the nuno felting process.  (web link: Introduction to Nuno Felting with Donna Lark.)
  • Ages: Ages 14+ Welcome.

Instructor:
Donna Lark states "I create Nuno Felted clothing inspired by features of the natural world. My love of the outdoors led me to pursue degrees in Environmental Education (BS) and Landscape Architecture (MLA) from the University of Michigan. Landscape Architecture is, at its core, a design process that encourages a fluid and intuitive relationship between the built environment and the natural, dynamic elements that envelope it. At its best a good design enhances the best qualities of both nature and structure.

My passion comes from an old family tradition of garment making. In my clothing designs there is a flow of color, form, texture and structure that is not unlike the movement in a garden. My goal is to enhance the qualities of the structure of the human body."
