What a great way to start the Holidays! In this workshop you will begin by designing and sewing a quilted holiday table runner and then make the gingerbread cookies to celebrate the season!
The first 2 sessions focus on the quilted holiday table runner. Create a lovely addition to your family traditions by selecting two contrasting fabrics to customize your own look with this holiday tablerunner! (See below for more details).
The third session is devoted to making Gingerbread Cookies with Chef Kell Killian in BARN's commercial kitchen. Bring your creativity and whimsy to this cooking class where we will make these spicy holiday cookies complete with your decorating touches.
Material Fees for Gingerbread: $12 (bring cash or a check made out to BARN to the 3rd session).

Details about the Quilted Table Runner Sessions:
Using the half square triangle, we will explore the ease that this versatile shape provides to many designs in the first class session. We will discuss some pros and cons about multiple ways to make half square triangle blocks and how to combine these blocks into our tablerunner.
In the second session of this class, we will finish our tablerunner using the Big Stitch technique and review some binding tips and tricks to give your project a professional look.
This class is for beginning quilters or those who want some holiday cheer!
Session 1 - Piece your Tablerunner: Monday, Nov. 27th, 1-3pm
Session 2 - Quilt and Bind Your Tablerunner: Friday, Dec . 1st, 1-3 pm
Session 3 - Gingerbread Cookies: Thursday, December 7th, 11 am - 2:30 PM
Supplies for Table Runner (please bring to Session 1):
- Basic sewing supplies – scissors, pins, thread to matching your project
- Fabric:
Two high contrast fabrics (1/2 yd each) for quilt top
Binding – 1/8th yd
Backing - ½ yd
- Batting - ½ yd
- Marking pen to mark half square triangles
- Needle - large eye to accommodate your choice of Perle/Pearl Cotton size 8 or Embroidery Floss or Heavy thread. You may want to experiment with a few different needle lengths!
- Perle/Pearl Cotton size 8 or Embroidery Floss or Heavy thread to match your project for Big Stitch
- Pins for basting project
- Ruler with a quarter inch seam marker (optional)
- Approximately 6” (or larger) square ruler with 45 degree diagonal line marked
- Tiger Tape Big Stitch Style (optional)
- Thread conditioner -such as Thread Heaven or Thread Magic or beeswax (optional)
- Embroidery Hoop (optional)
