About

Discover the fun in carving your own soft blocks and printing on fabric to create patches for mending or decorating your wardrobe! You'll practice some mindfulness, learn about text-based artists, and do some journaling and drawing to come up with two designs that include images and text for your blocks.

Details

  • No experience needed. 
  • You'll leave with at least eight patches in varying sizes, two blocks, and the inspiration to make more!
  • There will be a break to eat so please bring your lunch. A microwave and a refrigerator are available for use on the lower level.

Materials

A materials fee of $20, included in the price of the class, covers soft blocks, fabric ink, fabric and use of brayers.

Instructor
Danielle Potwin

Danielle earned her BFA in sculpture from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design and has taught high school as well as assisted in teaching college classes in clay, drawing, painting, hot glass, sculpture, and printmaking. Her work has been featured in The Boston Globe and Art New England. Previous to becoming a first-generation college graduate, she was a pastry chef and worked in kitchens and research and development for 15 years. She holds certification in social-emotional learning and mindfulness facilitation as well as being a certified yoga teacher. She loves being able to give her knowledge and teach skills to people of all ages.
