Instructor
James Henderson

Jim graduated from Pacific Lutheran University with a bachelor's degree in chemistry and biology, spent five years as an Air Force pilot, and then earned a master's degree in oceanography at Oregon State University. During his career, he explored the world’s oceans while doing highly complex technical and scientific projects. His last major project involved building, testing, and putting into operation a unique, deep-diving, manned submersible. Now in retirement, he often can be found fly fishing in streams and rivers and exploring the western US and Canada. When home on Bainbridge Island, he's frequently in BARN's Tech or Fiber Arts studios, sewing things like zippered pouches, glasses cases, and other items to keep things organized while out and about. He's a licensed amateur radio operator (K7EXP).
