This event is being postponed because of Covid concerns.

All safety monitors for the Woodworking Studio are invited to this meeting. We’ll start out in the Great Room with some time to discuss what is working well for monitors and what could be working better. Then we’ll move to the shop and break into small groups for refresher training presented by a group of experts. All monitors should attend the first part of this, which will focus on our latest machine acquisitions. Then we’ll offer training for most of the machines and key power tools in the shop. If you need a little refresher or haven’t used some of our tools then it’s recommended that you stay and participate.

We are asking all monitors to attend if their schedule allows. The purpose of this special session is very simple: We need your help. Our studio was shut down due to COVID for roughly a year. Since reopening, we have welcomed lots of new members, and we have installed several new tools. As a result, we are seeing an increase of members (both new and old) who need more supervision, as evidenced by misuse of tools, broken tools, and even minor injuries.
