About

What's old is new again! Catch the wave action with this design from Spectrum Glass, a stained glass studio on Bainbridge Island. Learn straight and curved glass cutting, and how to create "pools" of special colors, also called lensing.

This is a great class for beginners as you'll be introduced to working in the Glass Studio, and for seasoned artists, who may enjoy learning a new technique.

Skills you will learn or practice include curved cutting and using clear glass to lens or create visual pools (creating depth).

Details

A $54 materials fee, included in the cost of the class, includes everything you need to complete this project and includes extra glass to make snack dishes in an Open Studio.

Project

In this class you will make an 8-inch square plate in the colors you choose.

Class Policies

  • Ages 14 and up are welcome.
  • Wear closed-toe shoes and long pants in the Glass Studio at all times.
Instructor
Nancy Adams

Nancy Adams has loved everything glass since she was a young child. During the '70s, she dabbled in stained glass and discovered playing with fused glass at Mesolini Glass Studio on Bainbridge Island. She became intrigued with techniques and processes for manipulating the glass. Her 2017 retirement opened the door for the opportunity to pursue glass experimentation and to share with others what she has learned.
