About

Create a dramatic, three-dimensional, five-pointed metal star to decorate a wall or maybe the side of a barn or garage. You'll learn the basics of how to use a pattern and follow the order of operations. You'll get familiar with the tools and the techniques used in the sheet metal shop and learn how to use the basic hand tools, as well as cut and bend sheet metal with the manually operated shear and brake. You'll also use the spot welder.

• You’ll make a five-point star 20 inches in diameter from galvanized steel. You can paint it later, if desired.
• Enrollment is limited to four students for safety and more personalized assistance.

A $20 materials fee, included in the cost of the class, covers everything you'll need.

Prerequisites

Introduction to Sheet Metal Fabrication (or contact the studio to confirm previous experience is acceptable).

Class Policies

• Wear long pants, closed-toe shoes (natural fiber or leather).
• Tie back long hair.
• Ages 14 and up are welcome.
