About
We are postponing the Shibori Sample Notebook Workshop. We apologize for the inconvenience. We don’t have a new date yet, but will publicize this workshop once we reschedule it.
The Fiber Arts Studio at BARN is starting a series of monthly programs that focus on Shibori that will be led by Shibori artist Diana Gipson.
The first program in our series is: Creating a Shibori Sample Notebook. In this session we will be using Diana's Shibori sample notebooks as models for creating our own notebooks.
Come prepared to have a delightful day with Diana and your fellow Shibori enthusiasts as we begin creating our own Shibori sample notebooks.
Remember that this is your notebook and anything goes! You can include anything and everything you want in your Shibori notebook including photos you have taken, pictures cut from magazines, art articles, favorite color combinations you want to try, or reminders to yourself of ideas that pop into your head at midnight!!

Instructor Bio:
Diana Gipson is a fiber artist and teacher whose love of sewing began at an early age. After raising a family, she returned to college and graduate school, where she was introduced to the Japanese design techniques of shibori stitching, fold and clamp, and pole wrapping. But hand-stitching on silk immediately became the predominate focus of her fiber art.
She has continued to create Shibori wall art and clothing, as well as teach design and hand-dyeing workshops. Since moving to Port Townsend from Boise, Idaho, where she taught art at Boise State, her Shibori work has been shown locally in galleries and exhibitions, and her Shibori clothing exhibited in Port Townsend Wearable Art Shows. She recently designed and executed Shibori-stitched and dyed coordinated vestments for the Episcopal Church in Port Townsend.
