About

Learn to set a square faceted stone in a thick wall setting with Jody Lyle, in this 2-day class.  We will be learning to set faceted stones with sharp edges like square, rectangles and pears and have a chance to finish a ring, pendant or earrings.  The techniques learned in this class will improve your overall stone setting skills, giving your more freedom of design.

This is an intermediate level class.

Materials fee: $25

Cubic Zirconia (CZ) princess cut (square) stones will be provided.  If students want to bring their own metal or stones, they may, but might have to make custom setting to fit their stones and it is best if they are 7 or higher on the Mosh scale.  Barn will provide copper and brass sheet and wire for students to make their pieces. There will be some silver for purchase if you choose.

The studio has these tools but if students want to bring their own:
pliers, files, point burnisher, sanding sticks, small round burs, setting and heart burs, flat and square gravers, setting punches, dividers, caliper, flex-shaft hammer hand-piece, Benchmate vices, other vices and magnification eye wear.
